Halloween Fun
We had a blast here last night. We've had this tradition to invite neighbors and friends over to our house on Halloween, eat ham, potatoes, and finger foods, followed by Trick or Treat. It's so great because the kids are all excited, and can be together shouting, laughing, and looking forward to getting candy. After all, that's what it's about for them....the candy! I love that we can feed everybody, and families are together, enjoying their kids. We had a bonfire going on the deck, and the kids roasted marshmallows after they ate some dinner. This year, we had a new set of neighbors join us, as well as a few families from our church. The kids looked forward to this "party" all week, and my 8 and 10 year old put on their costumes at 10:00 am! Since there are no dress codes for our homeschool, it was fine........so I taught a cheerleader and a pirate for school yesterday! Their party excitement kind of distracted their enthusiasm for learning. Oh....and Sara# Pali# showed up at our party, too! Well, it sure looked like her, anyway. We also had an Egyptian Queen, a bouquet of flowers, Pooh and Piglet, American Idol Contestant, 2 punk rockers, an artist, two cowgirls, a 70's gal, an 80's gal, a minister, a chef, a Star Wars character, Indiana Jones, a ladybug, a pumpkin, and Dumbo! Thanks, neighbors and friends, for contributing to the meal, and joining us for the fun.
