New Year...

Wow, shamefully it's been 2 months since I've blogged. I just read my post from November, and I know why. I started getting stressed just reading it! Since then, it's been Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's. But actually, we had a very relaxing time over the holidays. Thanksgiving was spent in Virignia with my parents, and brother and his family. What a joy to be with all of them. My brother and his wife have 4 children, we have 3. I can truly say my nieces and nephews are some of the best kids I know! What a pleasure for our kids to hang out together, without all the "drama" that sometimes ensues when that many kids are together. I also enjoyed relaxing with the adults, eating, talking, more eating, watching t.v., and eating. Christmas was spent here, with a weekend trip to my brother's, then we spent time together as a family on New Year's. My parents were able to make it here for Christmas, which was so much fun. They brought their adorable Bison dog, Buddy, who added a lot of interest to our week. My brother and sis-in-law were the best hosts the weekend we were there. We ate some yummy meals at their house, helped them finish their Christmas cookies, and caught up with the kids and their interests. In between there were school and church parties, 3 family parties, and the normal craziness of Christmas buying, wrapping, baking and planning.

Now, I'm settling in for a New Year of planning, goal-setting, and trusting God to take care of my family and I this year. We started the year off well. Originally, we were going to have a party here, like we've done in years past. But when that fell through, we took the kids out to eat and down to a lights display that was incredible. We laughed, drank hot cocoa, took pictures, and just enjoyed being together. We brought in the New Year with hubby's 95 year old grandmother and family. It was a perfect way to start 2008. Now, I'm settling in for a New Year of planning and trusting God to take care of our family this year. Bless you this New Year!

Wow, I'm feelin' the love! You make us sound so nice.

Ironically, I'm sitting here ignoring my sweet wonderful children as they beat each other up with rolled newspapers and laugh maniacally over the pain they are inflicting on one another.

Seriously, I'm just totally tuning them out right now! The Boss is at a meeting and I'm waaaay too fried to even care that they will all have tube-like bruises all over their torsos tomorrow. Seriously. I'm not exxaggerating at all. I wish I were. . . .
