I sometimes think that's all I say to my kids. Here's the words I often repeat when we're getting ready to leave somwhere (such "Mom" words).
"Where are your shoes?" (to middle son)
"I TOLD you we were leaving in 10 minutes!"
"Did you brush your teeth like I said........" (followed by SILENCE)
"Put the cat down....you're getting hair all over your clothing"
"Where's _____________?"
"Has anyone seen my KEYS?"
"Let's go, we're gonna be late!"
"Get your jacket, you'll freeze out there"
and my favorite.....
"OK.......we're leaving NOW!" (of which I say at least twice)
How dumb can I get not to realize that after almost 12 years of parenthood I will never LEAVE NOW.
My day went something like this:
Up at 5:00, do dishes, check e-mail and write an e-mail asking a friend to take pics of my homeschooled kids, throw away several pieces of "junk" mail, pick up, sweep, feed cats, finish making child's lunch, start coffee, review school lessons, read Scripture, begin going through 15 years of pictures of which I'm overwhelmed.
7:00 Fog delay for my youngest, taught science to middle, and off to take youngest to school at 9:15 (late again even with a delay!), pick up oldest daughter from friend's house, stayed too long to chat, home for lunch, homeschooling again, off to get my hair highlighted. Hmmm.....the highlights are a little too light, so stylist fixes it with some color. Somewhere in there I took 5 phone calls, and made several call regarding sale of a property we own. Back home to fix pancakes and bacon for dinner, wrap a present, drag all my "stuff" to church to teach at kids club, home again to clean up from dinner, vacuum and be ready when hubby arrives home from trip!
Whew.......what a day! As you can see, that's why I say "Let's go!" all the time. I hope to be saying less of that this coming weekend....... Saturday.........family time just chillin out with pizza and a movie. Anyone seen a good movie lately?

Omigosh! I'm tired just reading all of it! Makes me feel guilty for laying on the couch for three days. Of course, I only got to lay around like that cuz I've been sick and I only had one kid at home who's like the easiest kid ever! Homeschooling was all review this week - from the couch :)
Hope the rest of the week gets better - can't wait to hang out with all of you in VA.
