Baseball!

Well, it's still baseball season. Baseball season is looonggg in our house. Not that I don't enjoy it. I've learned over the years how to enjoy baseball. You see, I have a confession to make. I vowed I wouldn't marry someone who was a sports fanatic (he knows I used to say this). Surprise! Guess who I married? A wonderful man who happens to love baseball/softball and sports in general! So, he coaches our church softball team (15 years in a row), and watches it on TV, and two of our children play baseball. I have learned to love watching my family play, chat with friends, and understand enough of the game for it to be fun. I also love watching my handsome husband hit and run the bases. I'm always so proud of him! He still enjoys playing, and still looks great out there! Coaching is not an easy job, and he handles it like a pro. So, you see why I've learned to enjoy baseball.....it's the people, not the game.

In addition, there is a minor league team that has a local stadium. We love going to the games, since it gives us a chance to enjoy family time, but also see a good game of ball. Last night, friends of ours invited us to come to a game, and we sat in one of the Skyboxes. Let me tell you....I have now found the BEST way to enjoy baseball. Instead of sitting in a hard seat, squished between people you don't know, you can enjoy sofa seats inside an air conditioned room, a personal refrigerator and bathroom, a TV, and game seats in a section all our own! It was a lot of fun. I was especially grateful for skybox seats when the game was going into the 15th inning....yes 15th! We finally left, but at least my butt wasn't sore from hard seats for 4 1/2 hours. I enjoyed the evening immensely. Thanks Rita and Scott for inviting us! And Happy Birthday to their son, whose 11th B'Day was last week.
