T.V. and Summer

I don't know what other moms do, but we've established something regarding the t.v., my kids, and summer. Two of my three kids would probably sit in front of the tube all day if I let them. So, this is the third summer in a row we've implemented our "TV Tickets". Actually, they are tickets for all electronics, including video games, computer, and T.V. For each child I have created four half-hour "Tickets" to turn in daily. Each child receives two hours of viewing/gaming time daily. They may use all of them, but if they don't, they cannot save them for the next day. So, if my son wants to play on the computer, he sets the timer for thirty minutes, and turns in a ticket. When all four tickets are gone, that's it. However, we've also established that each child must read 1 hour before turning in any tickets. Any other reading above one hour will earn them rewards from our "reward box". In addition, I can declare "no t.v./electronic" days. I won't do this more than once or twice weekly, and only on days I know they can go outside and play. So far, this system works for our kids, and cuts down on me being responsible for everyone's viewing time. I'd love to hear ideas from other mom's.
