Picasso and....

Picasso and croup, Picasso and strep, Picasso and the flu. Sounds like a rhyme! Yes, she's been sooo sick in Feb. and March. Poor girl has really had a time. In between the viruses she has been fatigued and dizzy, even queasy. We've been to the Dr. 6 times total since mid-February. Mono was the logical conclusion by the Dr. and myself, but the blood results came back negative for it. While testing for mono, he also checked other things including her thyroid. She has a thyroid condition that is just beginning to give her problems. Having a history of thyroid problems on both sides of the family, it wasn't a total surprise, and yet she's so young (13). She has started her medication today, so hopefully this will be the start of a new girl, and she'll feel better soon. The rest of us have only battled colds and coughs, and Princess had a short stomach illness. Otherwise, Picasso has been the scapegoat for all of us. Yearning for that Spring/Summer weather has set in, and we're looking forward to healthy days ahead.

I'm so sorry your beautiful Picaso is feeling so poorly. I will keep her in my prayers.

I'm sorry that you have been going through all of that! Boy...

Can I give you a little advice that the doctors won't? Hope you don't mind. We do these things and most of us haven't (Praise Jesus) gotten sick for over a year.

Wash, wash, hands - always - after going out in public especially.
Multi vitamins for all
Acidolphilus (a good probiotic)
Vit C every day

Limit and cut way down on sugar (including high fructose corn syrup). It lowers your immune system for 6 hours.

I swear by these habits. They really do help. Of course, be in the Word, too! But, I'm sure you already do that. :)

Hope things start to perk up! I'll bet you have a bit of cabin fever!

Great tips! Actually, I'm a big freak about washing hands (A LOT) and taking vitamins, and also eating healthy. Actually, Picasso eats the least amount of sugar and doesn't even care for sweets, and is the only one who has been sick. Go figure?? This is why it's been so frustrating...we do all the right things. We're thinking the low thyroid also lowered her immunities.
